With the summer heat in full swing, it’s time to explore Toronto and Mississauga to find the best places to keep cool this summer.

A beach day is always good family fun. Visit Sunnyside Beach, just 14 minutes from our Toronto Lake Promenade apartment community. This beach isn’t as popular as the others in the city, so you can stretch out and enjoy the beach without feeling crowded. Alternatively, Woodbine Beach is just 20 minutes from our Donway Properties, this beach offers swim-ready water, a long boardwalk, and loads of volleyball nets. Before heading to any beach this summer, check the beach water quality on Toronto’s SwimSafe website.

Mississauga has 7 outdoor pools open now until September 4th, check the swim schedule before visiting a public pool. The Lions Club of Credit Valley has an outdoor pool and splash pad within walking distance from our Elizabeth Towers. In Toronto, there are a whopping 58 outdoor pools open this summer. Residents of our Hunters Lodge apartment building can enjoy their own outdoor swimming pool on the property all summer long.

Cool the kids off at one of Mississauga’s 32 spray pads or one of Toronto’s 80 splash pads. Let the kids splash and play while you relax in the shade. In Toronto, June Rowlands Park has a beautiful splash pad along with a Sharron, Lois, and Bram playground, just minutes from our Holly Tower apartments

Cool down at Scoops Ice Cream on Lakeshore Road in Mississauga, steps from our Elizabeth Towers. Find loads of flavours and customize your cool treat your way. In Toronto, try something different with a gelato-filled cannoli, cookie, or croissant at Gelato on the Danny. Gelato is Italian ice cream made with more flavour and richness than regular ice cream. Alternatively, make smoothies with the kids using simple ingredients and a blender.

Get on the water with Toronto Island SUP and try stand up paddleboarding or kayaking. This fun activity is perfect for hot summer days and a fun way to stay cool together. Or enjoy a boat tour to see the Toronto Islands and waterfront with Toronto Harbour Tours

Regardless of how you choose to stay cool this summer, remember to be sun safe and protect yourself and family from the harsh sun rays.
