Museums preserve the past while educating future generations in a fun and entertaining way. Here in the GTA we have several amazing museums to visit all with countless opportunities to learn, grow, and inspire.

The Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto is a popular destination for museum lovers with everything from modern fashion to the dinosaur age. Minutes from our Cartac Community apartments, the ROM offers guests a fresh look at the past with rotating exhibitions. 3rd Tuesday Nights Free is back at the ROM where every month on the third Tuesday, guest can enter the museum free from 4:30 to 8:30pm.

Another fascinating museum is the Aga Khan Museum in North York, a quick drive from our Donway Properties. As North America’s first museum dedicated exclusively to Islamic arts, the Aga Khan Museum celebrates the Islamic world with awe-inspiring objects from Prince Karim Aga Khan IV’s personal collection along with special exhibitions, programs, and performances designed to celebrate and educate.

Did you know Toronto has a shoe museum? The Bata Shoe Museum is home to over 14,000 shoes and related objects. This museum has three ever changing galleries that continually explore shoe history and future. In their permanent exhibit guests can explore the over 4,500 years of shoe history and see its evolution and symbolism. Our Holly Tower Apartments is just 15 minutes from this fascinating museum.

In Mississauga, one of our favourite museums to visit is the Bradley Museum along the edge of Lake Ontario. Just down the street from our Elizabeth Towers Apartments and nestled in an old maple grove is charming piece of Mississauga history. On the two-acre property, you’ll find the Bradley House, The Anchorage, a mid-1800s Port Credit Log Cabin, and outbuildings constructed in the early 1970s. Enjoy free parking along with special events, programs, and self-guided tours.

Step into the history of Egypt at Mississauga’s Egyptian Museum, just 20 minutes from our Royal Tower Apartments. Here you’ll learn about King Tut and his treasure, the ancient Egyptian Pyramids, and Nefertiti, the Queen of Egypt. Stroll through the galleries, watch documentaries, and even have your name written in the Hieroglyphic & Coptic alphabets.
